This test checks if the vertical lines are caused by the blackprint cartridge Picture of the printer cartridge. Clicking this icon will open a new window. .

If you have another new or undamaged used black print cartridge available, do the following:

  1. Install the new black print cartridge.
  2. Print out another set of test pages to check.
    Click   to print the test pages.
  3. Look at the new set of test pages.
    If the vertical lines disappears, the black print cartridge that you removed is damaged. Replace the black print cartridge with a new black print cartridge.
    If the vertical lines do not disappear, contact HP.
